I just came across your web site while browsing
the net for information on the 4 corners Monument and the state
of New Mexico. Congratulations for your web site, you did a
great job ! I personally take the same pictures as you do :
Welcome signs and State Capitol buildings. We are going to NM
next month (that'll be State n° 48 and Capitol bldg n°45 !)
and after seeing your pictures I'm even more excited about that
trip. Once again, congratulations. It's a nice tribute to your
beautiful country.
Best regards

I just wanted to drop a note about your site.
It was featured in one of my e-letters as the cool page of the
day. I think your page is terrific! Great Job! I can spend hours
on it, just looking at all the different states!

Hello, Roger Johnson! This world is full of
irony and coincidence but I never thought I would discover someone
whose interests with respect to our country so closely resembled
my own. I too am enamered with the states of our glorious country,
their capitols and points of interest and I once had assembled
a modest (15-20 state) collection of welcome signs as well.
I have no idea where those photos are today but it is no great
loss since most of them were of poor quality anyway, having
been taken from a moving vehicle, many without beneifit of high
speed film. Anyway it was very nice to stumble onto your website
and peruse your offerings. My goal has always been to set foot
in every state in the union and to visit every state capitol.
To date, I have visited 49 states ( I'm missing Alaska) and
36 capitols. I hope to visit Alaska one day and to see the other
capitols and I might revive my state welcome sign activities
as well. Thank-you for your very interesting web site. By the
way, my name is Roger Johnson as well. A little older than you
(52) but undoubtedly a kindred spirit.

Dear Roger, my compliments for Your "Welcome
to America".I' ve appreciated photos, trip maps an' Your indications
which help me to plan my next trips to America. I'm from Italy
but I love America more than my own country an' when I travel
for vacation I spend some days in USA. I have a little collection
of welcome signs from MS, AL, FL, MO, KY an' they're among my
best memories. You did a great job! Please accept my best regards
to You and Your Family with "CIAO" (that means Hello to a friend
in italian)from a friend in Italy. Bye !!

I got a link to your website, from another guy
who's site I found. I just wanted to say you did a great job
and I am so jealous! I am trying to go to every state although
I don't expect to accomplish that anytime soon. I am almost
half way there, and I take all the state welcome signs pictures
too. My Texas one is the only one that turned out bad so far.
Sun was in the way. I would like to do the capitals too but
I have only made four of them. Well just wanted to say good
job and I love the site!!

What a great site! I've just this morning discovered
it, and am going to show it to my daughter when she gets home
from school this afternoon. When she was in kindergarten, we
took a trip from Florida up to Illinois for a cousin's wedding.
I had her get out of the car at each state line (FL, AL, TN,
KY, and IL) and take a picture of the welcome sign. We then
took pictures of the activities we participated in during the
long wedding weekend. When we returned home, we created a poster
of our trip for her to share with her class. She's a seventh
grader now, so of course she rolls her eyes at me for suggesting
such sport these days, but I plan to show her how interesting
(and yes, educational) it can be. Your site gets an A+ on both
counts...it's so interesting that kids won't even notice it's
also educational! Keep it up - you are indeed living an adventure!

Great web site. I'm been on my quest since 1990 to get my picture
next to the 50 welcome to signs. I've got 31 so far and a chance
of 5 new ones this year. I also try to visit all the Major League
Baseball Stadiums. Take care.
