The George Rogers Clark National Historical Park in Vincennes. The monument marks the site where Lieutenant Colonel George Rogers Clark and his frontiersmen captured Fort Sackvilleon February 25, 1779. The victory here helped secure American clams on territory that would become the modern day states of Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin in the 1783 Treaty of Paris following the American Revolution.
