Looking out over Gettysburg National Millitary Park from Little Round Top. The statue is of Brigadier General Gouverneur K. Warren who on July 2, 1863 observed there were no Union forces occupying the hill. He quickly ordered Union forces to the position. The 20th Maine took up defensive positions just before Confederate forces arrived. |
