The tomb of President George Washington, the first president of the United States and his wife Martha. The tomb is on the grounds of President Washington's estate Mount Vernon exactly as he directed in his will. Plans had been made for him to be buried beneath the rotunda of the US Capitol but relatives insisted he remain where he is. |
